BooleanMixers doesn't work as expected

Feb 11, 2011 at 12:17 PM

Hi,

1. I want to use Mic Boost option of my sound card with use of NAudio, but when i create BooleanMixerControl of Mic Boost (which is only seen on XP) i can only set it's value to true.

 - why Mic Boost is only seen  in XP, even if I have on my Vista Bussiness 64 option Mic Boost on my mic in Control Panel / Audio?

2. I also check using Mute control. This doesnt work at all.

Is there any bug about Boolean Mixer Control?

3. Is this possible to get slider with Mic Boost values which is available in Windows 7 or Vista?

Are you running on the latest version of the NAudio source code (i.e. go to source code tab). I seem to remember fixing one bug in this area. However, there may be others - boolean mixer controls are not a very commonly used feature.

Getting hold of the controls you want in Win 7/Vista is very difficult. I have yet to find a reliable way, but if you explore the available controls enough you should find what you are looking for eventually.
